How was it?

~ Overall - WOW! I know that I was left with the feeling that I learned and discovered so much more about reality and myself than I expected to! Of course I learned about dreads, too. But even if I never made a dime and we shaved our heads tomorrow and I never used the deadlocking skills I learned with you, I would feel like every penny I spent on the experience was worth it 1000 fold.

What did you get out of it?

~ Definitely a sense of confidence in working with dreadlocks that I didn’t have before. I also feel like I gained a sense of overall confidence in myself, too. <3 I so appreciated all the reinforcement and encouragement from everyone there. Especially you Glow, you’re such a nurturing soul! I know it may have taken a lot out of you, but please know that you made such a difference for me. I’m so grateful <3 I mean, I SANG A SONG of my own writing! How amazing!

Would you recommend it?

~ Absolutely! Even just from a purely energetic standpoint, Glow and Lobo were such a great team in encouraging, empowering, and supporting everyone there! I would definitely attend other workshops centered around other things like spirituality / ceremony / healing / etc!

What urged you to do it?

~ Well from a dreading standpoint, obviously really wanting to be able to care for my own dreads and my hubby’s was huge. I felt like the price was super reasonable (so you could definitely charge more if you felt like you needed to) and everyone knows Wired & Stoned is the best! ;) From a spiritual / energetic growth side of things, I’ve always felt like I really resonated with you, Glow! I always loved our talks on Insta, and I felt like it was an inspired action to come and meet you in person and learn from you! <3 I like to take intuitive cues from Source, and this workshop was something that lit up my heart when I thought about it!

What did you have to overcome to attend?

~ I actually felt very supported in attending, which is always good sign for me that I’m not fighting upstream against Source! When I meet little resistance, I know I’m on the right track :) I think from a logistics point of view, Ogden was a little bit more difficult to get to, what with being so far from the airport. And Ubers were a little trickier bc they took quite a bit longer to arrive than in most cities. But all in all, those were very minor things, and I loved Ogden’s charm and the beauty of the mountains! I would still attend another workshop in Ogden, for sure. <3

I was so thrilled to see Wired and Stoned offering a Dreadlock Worshop. When I began making my own locs Glow helped me via their YouTube videos. For me, it was a full circle moment to know she would be able to hands on help me gain confidence in my skills and able to move forward to help others do the same.

The Wired and Stoned workshop is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain knowledge about locs and learn how to make them. Glow and Lobo were patient, kind, willing to spill their secrets and very informative. Their program will prepare you to educate your future clients about the loc journey, the ups and downs, the nitty gritty and the spiritual aspect.

How was it?

This workshop was transformative both externally and mostly importantly to me, internally. Glow and Lobo over delivered and went out of their way to make everyone feel so welcome and took care of us as if we were close friends.

What did you get out of it?

Learning how to do something that is easy enough in itself but requires a lot of time and patience, facing certain frustrations in the process forces you go inward and work out a lot of things that you may not have realized effects your behavior and outlook. Learning to go with the flow and trusting your instincts, being okay with making “mistakes” and trying a new approach is so applicable to life as a whole.

Would you recommend it?

Most definitely! Even if one is not interested in becoming a professional loctician, and may just want to learn so that they can do their own hair and maintenance, the information and practice you receive gives you the confidence to do the work for yourself. The overall experience that you receive and people you get to meet is priceless.

What urged you to do it?

I had been interested in getting locs myself for many years but never took the plunge. I got as close to going in for a consultation and scheduling an appointment, but due to work had to cancel and honestly felt kinda guilty that I would be taking a whole day for myself to get the work done. Since it’s hard for me to schedule time for “me”, I knew I would need to learn how to do my own maintenance when I did decide to get them. I had actually started practicing on a old Halloween wig that I had and looked up some YouTube videos on how to make dreads and came across Wired and Stoned. I started following them on Facebook and IG, and actually ordered a few crystal wraps off their website. I am a sucker for details and was so impressed and in-love with the thoughtfulness, packaging and quality of product when I received my necklaces. When I saw they were offering a dreadlock workshop, I knew I wanted to train with them and that it was gonna be a complete experience, which it was!

What did you have to overcome to attend?

The workshop was actually a gift from one of my best friends. I was talking to them about it and how I was considering it and why I wanted to do the workshop and they gifted it to me! I took a couple days off work and flew from CA to UT! I kind of kept what kind of workshop I was going to a secret from a lot of people as most of the response that I would get (from family, friends and some clients) was that I was crazy to even want to have dreadlocks (I even received a couple “gross” and “eww” reactions ) much less spend money and take time off of work to learn how to do them. I really had to accept that it was okay to invest in something that was strictly for me.

Summary

I started my dreadlock “journey” at the workshop and since being home have add to the knotty collection ️. This is by far the highest maintenance hair “style” that I’ve had so far because of the desired look I’d like to maintain and the health of my hair I’d like to keep. This dread journey so far has forced me to set aside time for myself every day, I have actually started journaling the conscious acts of “self-love” I do for myself every day (I am on day 8 ️). Because these dreads were a personal decision for me, I do feel more of a freedom to be and show myself regardless of the approval or disapproval that I may receive from others. I am learning to trust myself, intuition and evaluate my intensions more and more each day.
